Debit Card Swipe Direction

I never know which way to swipe my card when I get to a debit terminal. That little demo picture is not even remotely helpful and no two debit terminals are alike.
There was a cashier at Loblaws the other day that did a neat thing when she took the person's debit card; instead of swiping it she just placed it in the machine the right way.
Till then I will think of better example diagram.

The direction stickers are absolutely idiotic. Some are backwards! I definitely appreciate when the cashier puts the card in the right direction ... more and more of them are doing it.

I always make that mistake even when trying to follow the messed up sticker.
