Bag Full O OC Transpo Crazies

I'm not sure what is was about last weeks commute from work but the crazies were out in droves on the OC Transpo last week.

First this crazy old lady with dementia was having a fit: "We're going the wrong way..let me off...let me off". Her poor daugter was trying to restrain her. Only to earn some serious cut-eye from moms for her efforts.

Then there was the man-she that sat beside me for the whole trip (the whole front of the bus was completely empty). But no she (i think) had to sit beside me the whole time.

And finally someone asked me which bus I just got off and I said "its the 86" and she said no it isn't it doesn't come to this stop. Ok your, right I'm lying...I'm trying to trick you. The 86 continues along holland...it doesn't turn up Carling.

Ottawa Library

So I got my first Ottawa library card on the weekend. It was a little embarrasing when I tried to find my books though (it's not like chapters at all is it). Dewey Decimal system...complete forgot about that stuff.

You can reserve your books online and have them sent to your closest location. How fun is that.

5 Things I've Learned From Facebook

1. Almost every single person I have ever known is either in Australia right now or has spent at least a year there.

2. Some friendships never grow old, no matter how long you haven't spoken to someone.

3. Only the nerdy kids are married (oh crap...that's me).

4. It's weird seeing your friends' little brothers/sisters all grow'd up.

5. My brother is cooler than I thought.

McDonald's To Add Pepsi

This article is another example of how scanning while reading on the web can misconstrue a message or just give a really funny way of looking at things. I'll let you in on what I was thinking at the end of this section of the article.

McDonald's gives Pepsi a try
Release date: 12-Mar-07 07:14 PM
There's a crack in McDonald's Corp.'s long-entrenched relationship with Coca-Cola Co. The restaurant chain is experimenting with giving consumers a choice between bottled products from Coke and archrival PepsiCo Inc., alongside its traditional fountain drink offerings.

Coke has been the preferred supplier for McDonald's for 51 years in the United States and for 40 years in Canada. While the test program involving PepsiCo products is limited to a few U.S. markets, it could have major implications in the beverage wars. Coke derives up to 10 per cent of its North American profit from McDonald's sales, according to some estimates.

“McDonald's is always testing something. But at the same time, if you're Coke you don't want your exclusivity to be messed with,” said analyst Matthew Reilly.

“You don't want other people to be horning in on your turf,” the Morningstar analyst added.

I read the above quote as " You don't want other people to be whoring out your turf". The reality is that while I read it wrong the message is still the same.
