The Jar of Salsa I Can't Open

Andrew and I can't open this jar of salsa, so my first thought was to give it away to the food bank as a canned good? Why does my mind work that way?

Weird. The reason hot water works is that the metal lid expands under heat while the glass jar does not. The hotter the water and the longer you soak it will help.
If your jar and lid are made of other stuff, all bets are off. :)
The danger of banging a glass jar is broken glass in the food. Crunchy shards of goodness.
