I don't get how or why sooo many people love pickles.
They are green, bumpy, ugly and to top it all off they swim in their own rancid juices.
But all I hear is "Are you going to eat that?"
Nastiness...the only cool thing about pickles is that commercial with the aliens. (dee tatata)

I love pickles too! Those 'rancid juices' are usually an acid (like vinegar, acetic acid), which protect pickles from bacteria but also give the pickles flavour (with dill, garlic, etc).
Pickling was one of the ways people kept vegetables edible over long periods of time. Yay pickles! -
